Announcing the second Try Out Tuesday on Cartoon Food TV. After taking on board everyone’s feedback the competition will be open for 1month (not 1 week). Final submissions need to be in by 6th January 2014.

3. Duration is 10-30 seconds.
4. Entrants should upload their videos to youtube/vimeo and post their links on this blog’s comment thread or post it directly to our Facebook page (you’ll find the ‘like’ button on our site).
Friday’s are all about the funny. Each week we’ll be selecting animations that have made us chuckle.
First up is this short from Birdbox Studio. They’ve appeared on this blog quite a few times and they’ve created so many gems that we imagine they’ll be returning visitors for some time to come. In this spot a shopping trip goes very awry.
We’re throwing the spotlight on some exciting Japanese and Chinese animation today. First up is this delicious first person animated short by Takuya Hosogane. The timing, colours music and intricacy of the animation is stunning. You can almost taste the food!

Lovingly animated in 2 and a half D by the Talking Animals Studio, this tale of a Dog literally chasing his tail has the answer, sort of! A treat for animation and dog lovers everywhere!
Pub Dog, a very cute animation from the ever brilliant Bird Box Studios. Timing, set-up and character animation are all excellent. Take a couple of minutes to enjoy before breaking off for a quick half!

Seth Boyden has produced this hand-drawn animated short as part of a Calarts 48 hour film competition, which just goes to show anyone taking part in our Try Out Tuesdays that it really can be done…come on, he had 2 days and try out tuesdays gives you almost a week!
Screen Novelties made this incredible opening title sequence out of Lego for Adventure Time. Epic really doesn’t do it justice. A bricky masterpiece.
